The Impact of a Mindfulness-Gestalt Based Counseling Group on Undergraduate College Students

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects a Mindfulness-Gestalt-based Counseling Program on students’ mindfulness skills and aspects well-being. Gestalt psychotherapy considers as part its therapeutic model, both which contribute development awareness. A growing number studies Mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) have shown positive outcomes for mental health An intervention program conducted sample 208 undergraduate students who completed four self-report questionnaires: Mindfulness, Attention, Awareness Scale (MAAS), Positive Negative Affect (PANAS), Satisfaction with Life (SWLS), Subjective Happiness (SHS). Two assessments were one week before after completion ten-week program. One hundred forty-seven (147) participants took in “Personal Development” sixty (60) formed control group. groups did not differ any pretest measures. results suggest that Personal Development Group had impact participants’ levels awareness, effect, life satisfaction, subjective happiness. These findings could gestalt-based future support academic lives.
